Guinean Defender Ibrahima Sory Conte III Returns Home After Toulouse Trial
Ibrahima Sory Conte III’s hopes of breaking into European football have suffered a setback after he failed to secure a contract with French club Toulouse.
The 21-year-old central defender, who arrived from Conakry’s Satellite FC to trial with Toulouse, did not convince the club’s coaching staff during his evaluation period. According to French daily La Dépêche, the player will not be offered a professional training contract and will return to his hometown of Conakry.
Conte was first noticed by Toulouse’s recruitment manager in July during a scouting tournament held in Guinea’s capital, organised by local clubs Hafia FC and TFC. Despite showing promise, the defender was ultimately unable to make the grade at the Ligue 1 club’s training centre.
