Tottenham Hotspur have adjusted their transfer strategy after recognising the difficulty of securing a deal for Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo, with the club now giving serious consideration to Egyptian international Omar Marmoush.

Spurs admire Semenyo and continue to rate him highly, but intense competition from several Premier League heavyweights has forced a reassessment.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool all monitor the Ghanaian attacker, while his €74 million release clause remains active only for a short window between January 1 and January 10.

Tottenham understand the scale of the challenge and accept that completing such a deal would require exceptional circumstances.

As a result, club executives have begun exploring alternative attacking options. According to reports from TeamTalk, Omar Marmoush has emerged as a prominent name on Tottenham’s shortlist.

The Egyptian forward also attracts attention from three other Premier League clubs, which underlines his growing reputation within English football.

Marmoush currently plays for Manchester City, where opportunities have proven limited this season.

Pep Guardiola continues to value the player, and Tottenham acknowledge the difficulty of negotiating directly with the City manager.

Any potential agreement would require creativity, with a loan deal that includes an option to buy identified as a possible route forward.

The 24-year-old remains under contract with Manchester City until June 30, 2029, and his current market valuation stands at approximately €65 million.

Despite his status as an established international, Marmoush has struggled for regular minutes.

He has featured in 18 matches this season but has accumulated just 532 minutes of playing time, a situation that has raised questions about his long-term role at the club.

Tottenham see that lack of consistent action as an opportunity. Spurs want to strengthen their attacking depth and believe Marmoush could benefit from a more prominent role within their system.

The club’s recruitment team continues to assess whether his profile fits their tactical needs and financial framework.

While Semenyo remains admired in north London, Tottenham now appear realistic about the obstacles surrounding his signature.

With time constraints, fierce competition and a significant release clause all in play, attention has turned toward a deal that offers greater flexibility.

As the transfer window progresses, Spurs aim to balance ambition with pragmatism.

Whether they pursue a temporary move for Marmoush or revive interest in Semenyo, the club intends to act decisively to reinforce their attacking options.
