Tottenham Hotspur have placed Malian midfielder Yves Bissouma on the transfer list after securing the services of Portuguese international João Palhinha from Fulham.
Bissouma, who joined Spurs from Brighton just two years ago, appears to have fallen out of favour as the club reshapes its midfield under the influence of Palhinha’s arrival.
Sources within the club suggest that the 27-year-old is now surplus to requirements and Tottenham are actively considering offers for his departure before the transfer window closes.
West Ham United and Turkish giants Fenerbahçe are both said to be keen on acquiring the services of the Malian international. West Ham are reportedly preparing to formalise an offer soon, while Fenerbahçe have also registered strong interest as they pursue a more aggressive recruitment campaign this summer.
Tottenham are believed to be seeking a transfer fee in the region of €15 million for Bissouma. Though initially brought in to bolster the midfield, Bissouma has struggled to establish himself as a consistent first-team presence during his spell in North London.
Despite showing flashes of his quality, his role has diminished and with just a year remaining on his contract, the club sees this as a crucial moment to cash in.
Bissouma is understood to be open to staying in London, which could give West Ham a significant advantage in the race for his signature. The player is reportedly intrigued by the opportunity to play under David Moyes in a system that places greater emphasis on defensive solidity, a setup that aligns well with his ball-winning strengths and physical attributes.
Fenerbahçe, however, remain in contention and are not prepared to give up easily. The Turkish club’s ambition in the current transfer window could yet present Bissouma with a compelling offer, though his preference for life in the English capital may prove a decisive factor.
As Tottenham continue to reshape their squad ahead of the new campaign, Bissouma’s situation is expected to be resolved swiftly. The arrival of Palhinha signals a shift in midfield strategy, and Spurs appear determined to streamline their options to align with their new tactical vision.
With interest mounting and negotiations progressing behind closed doors, Bissouma could find himself on the move again before the window slams shut.
