Tottenham midfielder Pape Matar Sarr bound for Juventus after deal is agreed

Tottenham midfielder Pape Matar Sarr is set to move to Juventus after the two clubs reached an agreement over the Senegal international’s transfer, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The 23-year-old will join the Serie A club initially on loan, with the deal including an option to buy. That clause will become mandatory if certain conditions agreed by Tottenham and Juventus are met. The overall value of the transfer could reach €30m, according to the report.

Sarr is understood to have been attracted by Juventus’ sporting project, which played an important role in bringing the negotiations to a conclusion. The Italian club had stepped up its efforts to complete the deal in recent days as it sought to strengthen its midfield, and has now secured the move.

The agreement represents a significant change for Sarr, who joined Tottenham from FC Metz in the summer of 2021. He has gradually established himself in the Premier League since arriving in England and is now set to experience a new league and footballing environment in Italy.

A move to Juventus could give the Senegal international greater responsibility as he continues his development at an ambitious club. He is contracted to Tottenham until June 2030 and is estimated to have a market value of €30m.

Sarr’s reported annual salary in England is €4,254,114, equivalent to 2,765,174,100 CFA francs. He had also attracted interest from Galatasaray in recent weeks, as previously reported exclusively by Africafoot.

His departure would come as Juventus prepare for their third Serie A match of the season against AC Milan. The fixture is scheduled to be played shortly, with Juventus listed at odds of 1.98 to win, a draw priced at 3.20 and an AC Milan victory at 3.40 by betting company 1xBet.

The proposed move would take Sarr from Tottenham’s Premier League set-up into Juventus’ Serie A squad, with the final transfer dependent on the conditions attached to the purchase clause in the loan agreement.
