Tottenham Hotspur have joined the growing list of clubs eyeing a move for Lecce’s young full-back Patrick Dorgu, despite his recent contract extension with the Italian side. The 19-year-old, who continues to attract attention across Europe, is now a target for the London club, alongside several Premier League rivals.
According to reports from Tuttomercatoweb, Spurs are the latest team to express interest in the Danish-Nigerian defender.
The North London side is set to compete with English giants Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United, all of whom are closely monitoring the player’s progress.
However, it’s not just Premier League clubs that are vying for his signature, as AC Milan also remains a key contender.
AC Milan, who have been following Dorgu since last summer, previously submitted an €8 million bid, which Lecce swiftly rejected.
The Italian club is expected to return with an improved offer in the upcoming transfer windows.
As competition heats up, any suitor will likely have to exceed Milan’s initial bid in order to convince Lecce to part with the young talent.
Despite the transfer interest, Dorgu’s immediate future remains with Lecce, after the club secured his services until 2029 in a recent contract renewal.
While valued at €12 million, Dorgu currently earns an annual salary of €120,000, a figure that may rise significantly if a transfer materializes.
Dorgu, born in Copenhagen, has quickly risen through the ranks and is seen as one of the most promising young full-backs in Europe.
His performances in Serie A have put him on the radar of some of the biggest clubs across the continent, and it appears that the battle for his signature is far from over.
Tottenham will have to fend off fierce competition if they hope to secure the young star’s services in future transfer windows.
