Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing to challenge Inter Milan for the signature of Al-Ittihad forward Moussa Diaby as they look to strengthen their attacking options before the end of the January transfer window.
The North London club’s interest comes amid injury struggles in their frontline, with both Mohammed Kudus and Richarlison sidelined, leaving Thomas Frank keen to bolster his squad for the remainder of the season.
Diaby, 26, moved from Aston Villa to the Saudi Pro League side in the summer of 2024 in a high-profile £50 million transfer.
While the French international arrived with expectations of making a significant impact, his time in Jeddah has been mixed, producing just eight goals in 53 appearances across all competitions. Despite this, his pace, dribbling ability, and versatility in attack have kept him on the radar of European clubs.
Inter Milan have been linked with a move to bring Diaby back to Europe, seeing him as a potential reinforcement to their forward line.
However, The Independent reports that Tottenham have now entered the race, hoping to beat the Serie A side to the Frenchman’s signature.
Spurs are understood to view Diaby as a player capable of adding depth, creativity, and experience to their frontline, particularly during a period when injuries have limited options in wide and central attacking roles.
For Tottenham, securing Diaby would represent both a tactical boost and a statement of intent in the transfer market.
Frank’s side have struggled to find consistent attacking form this season, and adding a player of Diaby’s quality could provide much-needed dynamism and unpredictability in the final third.
