Tottenham emerge as favourites to sign Marc Guehi
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly favourites to sign English defender of Ivorian descent, Marc Guehi.
Liverpool made a late push to secure Guehi’s signature on the final day of the 2025 summer transfer window, but head coach Oliver Glasner blocked the move. That stance may no longer hold weight, as Guehi’s contract expires in the summer of 2026 and the 25-year-old has no intention of signing an extension.
The situation has alerted several top European clubs, with Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Barcelona all monitoring the defender’s future. Reports also suggest Guehi himself is open to exploring a move to Spain.
Despite the interest from abroad, Spurs are said to be in pole position. According to English outlet CaughtOffside, Tottenham are currently favourites to land Guehi, who has been one of the Premier League’s most consistent centre-backs in recent seasons.
Liverpool remain keen, particularly after Giovanni Leoni’s long-term injury, while both Manchester United and Manchester City are also keeping tabs on developments.
The January window will provide more clarity on the possible destination of the in-demand centre-back.
For now, Guehi is committed to Crystal Palace and is determined to give his best to the team.
