Tottenham are considering reviving their interest in Olympique de Marseille forward Amine Gouiri during the next winter transfer window, according to journalist Ekrem Konur.
The Algeria international is understood to be a target at the request of Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi, who wants to strengthen his attacking options. De Zerbi worked with Gouiri at Marseille and is familiar with the 25-year-old’s ability to operate in several positions across the frontline.
Tottenham investigated the possibility of signing Gouiri during the summer transfer window, but no deal was completed. The London club’s plans were affected by Richarlison and Dominic Solanke ultimately remaining at Tottenham.
The situation could change in January. Richarlison’s future is uncertain, and Tottenham’s hierarchy would reportedly be prepared to consider the Brazil forward’s departure during the winter window. Should Richarlison leave, the move could prompt Tottenham to reopen discussions over Gouiri.
However, no formal approach is expected in the immediate future. Tottenham are first expected to assess the positions of their current attacking players before deciding whether to make contact regarding the Algeria international.
Gouiri’s contract with Marseille runs until 30 June 2029. He is valued at 30 million euros by Transfermarkt and earns 4 550 000 euros (2 957 500 000 FCFA) per year in France.
The forward’s versatility is a key factor in Tottenham’s interest, while De Zerbi’s knowledge of the player could also influence any decision to pursue a deal. For now, the possibility remains at an exploratory stage, with the Premier League club yet to make an official approach.
Marseille will next face Toulouse in the ninth round of the French championship.
