Tottenham bring in Egyptian-Canadian forward Omar Marmoush from Manchester City

Egyptian-Canadian forward Omar Marmoush has joined Tottenham from Manchester City on loan, adding a 27-year-old centre-forward to the Premier League club’s squad for the 2026-27 season.

Marmoush’s move was completed on 27 August 2026 and runs until 30 June 2027. No loan fee has been disclosed. The striker’s arrival follows a spell at Manchester City, where he won the FA Cup and League Cup in 2026.

He scored twice during City’s FA Cup-winning campaign and also featured in the Community Shield at the start of the current season. Marmoush made one appearance in that competition before moving to Tottenham, while he has yet to play in the Premier League in 2026-27.

The Cairo-born forward joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 in a €75m transfer. He had moved to Frankfurt from Wolfsburg on a free transfer in July 2023, after spending time with the German club and completing loan spells at Stuttgart and St Pauli.

Marmoush began his senior career with Egyptian club Wadi Degla before joining Wolfsburg II in 2017. He won the German Regionalliga North with Wolfsburg II during the 2018-19 season, marking an early achievement in his career in Germany.

At international level, Marmoush represents Egypt and played five matches at the 2026 World Cup. He started 60% of Egypt’s games at the tournament and played 68% of the available minutes.

The forward is listed at 1.83m and favours his right foot. His primary position is centre-forward, giving Tottenham an established option in the central attacking role for the season ahead.

Marmoush’s career also includes an Africa Cup of Nations runners-up medal with Egypt from the 2021-22 tournament. He has previously played for Wadi Degla, Wolfsburg, St Pauli, Stuttgart, Eintracht Frankfurt and Manchester City.

His arrival in north London comes after a City spell that began with a €75m move from Frankfurt and included two domestic honours. Marmoush is now contracted to Tottenham until the end of his loan on 30 June 2027, when he is scheduled to return to Manchester City.
