The Premier League kicks off this Saturday with the first day, and Tottenham is set to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday. However, Tottenham will be without Gareth Bale, as the Welsh striker is dealing with an injury that will keep him unavailable for two weeks, according to coach André Villas-Boas.
Villas-Boas commented on Bale’s condition, stating, “He is very far from the mark in terms of physical condition. He hasn’t played since the first friendly of the summer, and the pre-season passed without him being involved. There will be no rush when he returns against Crystal Palace on Sunday, Tbilisi in the European Cup, and Swansea at the end of next week.”
On a positive note for Tottenham, Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor will be part of the squad for the upcoming matches. Adebayor, the captain of the Togo national team, will wear jersey number 10 this season.
