Nabil Bentaleb Growing Frustrated with Tottenham Over Delayed Salary Raise
After a strong 2014-2015 season with Tottenham Hotspur, Algerian midfielder Nabil Bentaleb is growing increasingly impatient over his long-awaited salary increase. In a recent interview with the Daily Telegraph, Bentaleb voiced his frustration:
“I give everything on the pitch. I’ve worked very hard and it’s normal for me to want to be rewarded. We’ve been negotiating for almost nine months. It’s really getting very long and I’m starting to get tired of it all.”
Though Tottenham’s management acknowledges his importance to the team, they have been slow to offer concrete reassurance about his contract demands. This delay could push Bentaleb toward a summer transfer.
The Telegraph reports that Arsenal, Juventus, and PSG are among the clubs interested in the talented midfielder. A representative for Bentaleb added that “serious clubs of a higher caliber are ready to put on the table enough to satisfy president Levy and the player, who would see, this time, his emoluments increase exponentially.”
With talks dragging on, it appears that Bentaleb may be edging closer to leaving Tottenham rather than signing a new deal.
