Tottenham Hotspur head coach Thomas Frank has confirmed that Mohammed Kudus will be sidelined until April after suffering a thigh injury last weekend.
The Ghana international was forced off in the first half of Spurs’ clash with Sunderland, and subsequent scans have shown the problem will keep him out for an extended period.
Kudus’ absence represents a significant blow for Tottenham, with the midfielder set to miss a crucial stretch of the campaign.
Providing an update on Thursday, Frank explained that the injury affects both the tendon and quadriceps, ruling the player out until after the March international window.
“Kudus is a bigger one, to the tendon and quad, and don’t expect him back until after the March international break,” he said.
With the international break ending late in March, Kudus is expected to return at the earliest in early April, leaving him available only for the final seven Premier League matches of the season.
The setback also means the 25-year-old will miss Ghana’s international friendly against Germany, scheduled for March 30 in Stuttgart.
Kudus has featured 19 times for Spurs this season, scoring twice.
