Tottenham and Aston Villa push to sign Youssouf Fofana

AC Milan midfielder Youssouf Fofana could be heading for a summer exit, with both Tottenham and Aston Villa now joining the race for his signature according to reports in Italy.

The 27-year-old joined Milan from AS Monaco in the summer of 2024 and has delivered steady numbers in Serie A across his first two campaigns. In his debut season he registered one goal and six assists in 35 league appearances, 29 of them as a starter, while this term he has produced two goals and three assists in 29 matches, starting 25.

Italian reports suggest Milan are open to a sale at the end of the season and are listening to interest from several leagues. In recent weeks, Olympique Lyon, Olympique Marseille, Galatasaray and West Ham United have all been mentioned as possible destinations for the France international. Now, La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Tottenham and Aston Villa have also entered the picture and are keen to bring Fofana to the Premier League ahead of next season.

Both English clubs are said to have already submitted offers to the player’s agent as they look to position themselves early in the battle for his services.

Milan are reportedly demanding around 25 million euros, to sanction a transfer, and Fofana remains under contract at San Siro until the summer of 2028.
