Tottenham Put Emmanuel Adebayor on Transfer List Amid Tensions with Pochettino
Emmanuel Adebayor’s time at Tottenham appears to be nearing its end. The Togolese striker, once a prominent figure at clubs like Metz, Monaco, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Real Madrid, is reportedly no longer in manager Mauricio Pochettino’s plans and has been placed on the transfer list, according to The Mirror.
The relationship between Adebayor and Pochettino has reportedly deteriorated, prompting the Spurs boss to seek a replacement. However, Adebayor’s hefty weekly wage of around €212,000 is said to be a major obstacle to facilitating a move.
As per the same report, Pochettino has already identified a successor: Jay Rodriguez, the Southampton forward whom the Argentine manager previously coached, is seen as a suitable replacement.
Adebayor, who will turn 31 soon, has scored just two goals this season—a stark contrast to his past exploits, and a sign that his future at White Hart Lane is uncertain.
