Torpedo Moscow bring in Nigeria winger Jonathan Okoronkwo until 2029

Nigeria winger Jonathan Okoronkwo has joined Torpedo Moscow from Sivasspor on a free transfer, signing a contract that runs until 30 June 2029.

The 22-year-old left winger becomes a Torpedo Moscow player on 12 August 2026 and will wear the number 20 shirt. He moves to the Russian club after a short spell with Sivasspor, whom he joined from fellow Turkish side Hatayspor in January 2026, also on a free transfer.

Okoronkwo, who was born in Calabar, Nigeria, is a right-footed attacker whose main position is on the left wing. He is 1.75m tall and has also been recorded as a forward in his career.

The move gives Torpedo Moscow a player with a previous scoring landmark to his name. Okoronkwo finished as the National Football League’s top scorer in the 2023-24 season, when he scored 17 goals.

His career has included spells in Bulgaria, Russia and Turkey. He first moved to Europe from Sierra Leonean club Diamond Stars to FDC Vista in January 2019, before joining Botev Plovdiv on a free transfer in September 2021.

Okoronkwo then moved between Botev Plovdiv and Krasnodar 2 during the 2021-22 season, initially joining Krasnodar’s reserve side on loan before returning to Botev Plovdiv. He joined Krasnodar permanently in July 2022 for €400,000.

A loan move took him to Arsenal Tula during the 2023-24 season, after which he returned to Krasnodar before making his €800,000 move to Hatayspor in July 2024. His transfer to Sivasspor followed in January 2026 without a fee, and he has now changed clubs again after seven months.

Okoronkwo’s market value is listed at €1m, matching the highest recorded value of his career. He joins Torpedo Moscow from Sivasspor as the Russian club’s latest attacking addition, with his new contract secured through the end of June 2029.
