Cameroon right-back Jackson Tchatchoua is attracting strong interest from Italy, with Torino FC emerging as the leading contenders to sign the defender following Wolverhampton’s relegation to the Championship.

The 23-year-old is expected to be available this summer as the English club look to reshape their squad and reduce their wage bill in preparation for a promotion push. Club sources indicate Wolves would not block a departure if a suitable offer is received.

With several Italian sides monitoring his situation, Torino are currently regarded as the most advanced in their interest, having tracked the player for an extended period.

The Serie A club are familiar with his profile and believe he could strengthen their options on the right flank.

To overcome financial constraints, Torino are reportedly exploring the possibility of a loan deal with an option to buy. Such an arrangement would allow the club to assess the player over a longer period while avoiding a significant immediate outlay.

A return to Serie A would also represent a familiar step for Tchatchoua, who previously developed at Hellas Verona before moving to England. His experience in Italy could help ease any transition should a deal be agreed in the coming weeks.

During his time at Wolverhampton, Tchatchoua has made more than 30 appearances this season, featuring regularly as a starter despite the club’s struggles.

He has been praised for his consistency, physical endurance and defensive discipline, attributes that are highly valued in Italian football.

Even in a difficult campaign, the Cameroon international has shown his ability to compete at a high level, particularly in one-on-one defensive situations and covering large areas of the pitch as a wing-back.

A move back to Italy would also offer the defender an opportunity to stabilise his club career and maintain his position within the Cameroon national team setup ahead of upcoming international fixtures.

Valued at around €12 million, according to Transfermarkt estimates, Tchatchoua is expected to be one of the key names involved in Wolverhampton’s summer transfer decisions as the club prepare for a major squad rebuild.
