Torin Ntege: Reading U21 sign England-Uganda winger on free transfer

England-Uganda winger Torin Ntege has joined Reading U21 from West Brom U21 on a free transfer, completing a move between two Premier League 2 clubs.

The 20-year-old has agreed a contract with Reading running until 30 June 2027. Ntege, who plays on the left wing and prefers his right foot, made the switch on 31 July 2026.

Born in Wandsworth, Ntege has represented both England and Uganda as a national of the two countries. He stands 1.85m tall and arrives at Reading after a season with West Brom U21.

Ntege made 19 appearances in Premier League 2, scoring twice and providing two assists. He also featured in the Premier League Cup, National League Cup and Premier League International Cup at under-21 level.

His move to West Brom came in July 2025, when he joined from Sutton Common on a free transfer. Before that, he had spells with Mousehole AFC and Hitchin Town, also moving between those clubs without a fee.

Ntege’s first recorded senior move came in December 2023, when he joined St Ives Town from Peterborough United’s under-18 side on loan. That loan ended in January 2024, before he returned to Peterborough’s youth set-up and then moved permanently to Hitchin Town in March of the same year.

He subsequently joined Mousehole AFC in September 2024 and Sutton Common in February 2025, prior to making the move into West Brom’s under-21 squad.

Reading U21 and West Brom U21 both compete in Premier League 2, meaning Ntege remains in the same competition after his transfer. His recent record includes appearances across four under-21 competitions, with his most productive return coming in Premier League 2.

The winger’s arrival gives Reading a player with experience at several levels of the English game, following a route that has taken him from youth football at Peterborough to senior clubs including St Ives Town, Hitchin Town, Mousehole AFC and Sutton Common.

Ntege has now left West Brom U21 and signed for Reading U21 on a free transfer, with his new contract scheduled to run until June 2027.
