Toni Gomes: Guinea-Bissau winger joins FC Liria on free transfer from Prishtina e Re
Guinea-Bissau and Portugal winger Toni Gomes has joined FC Liria on a free transfer from Prishtina e Re, signing a contract with the club until 30 June 2027. The 27-year-old left-footed right winger completes an intra-Kosovo move after a year with Prishtina e Re.
Gomes, who was born in Bissau and stands at 1.82m, arrives at Liria with experience across several leagues, including spells in Portugal, England, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Israel, Egypt and South Korea earlier in his career. He has been valued at around €125,000 and now continues his career in Kosovo’s top flight.
The forward joined Prishtina e Re in July 2025 following a career break, and has since featured regularly in the Superliga e Kosoves, making 29 league appearances and scoring five goals. His versatility across the front line and experience of different football cultures adds depth to Liria’s attacking options.
Before moving to Kosovo, Gomes had short stints with Seongnam FC in South Korea’s K League 2 and Hapoel Hadera in Israel’s Ligat ha’Al, as well as Zira FC in the Azerbaijani Premyer Liqa and several clubs in Turkey’s 1. Lig. Earlier in his career he spent time in England with Liverpool’s youth and under-23 sides and had a loan spell at Forest Green.
Gomes’ move to FC Liria is a permanent free transfer, with the winger now tied to the club for the 2026-27 season.
