Agoro Medjessiribi, the second vice-president of the Togolese Football Federation (FTF), has confirmed that all is set for Daré Nibombé to officially begin his tenure as the head coach of the Hawks of Togo. Speaking on Sport FM, Medjessiribi assured fans and observers that the contractual details have been agreed upon, with only the signature pending.
Daré Nibombé, who was officially announced as the new coach of the Togo national team on July 15, has yet to sign his contract, causing some concern among supporters.
The apprehension is heightened by the impending qualifiers for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON), with crucial matches against Liberia and Equatorial Guinea scheduled for September.
However, Medjessiribi’s announcement has brought much-needed clarity and relief.
In his interview on “Samedi Sports,” Medjessiribi revealed that extensive discussions have taken place to finalize Nibombé’s contract.
“We agreed on all the points; all that remains is the signature,” said Medjessiribi. “We had six meetings with the ministry, Daré Nibombé himself, and his manager.
He is a coach of a very high level. We saw and noted it during our discussions.”
Medjessiribi confirmed that Nibombé’s salary demands were met without any reductions.
“Daré is satisfied with his salary proposal which was taken into account without reduction.
The negotiations lasted several sessions but in the end, we reached an agreement,” he added. This consensus on financial terms has been a significant step towards finalizing the contract.
Regarding the coaching staff, Medjessiribi stated that Nibombé will be bringing in his team.
However, he did not specify whether familiar names like Kader Coubadja or Jean-Paul Abalo Dosseh would be part of Nibombé’s staff.
This detail remains to be clarified once the contract is officially signed.
Daré Nibombé, 44, is expected to bring a new era of success to the Togo national team.
His appointment has been met with optimism, given his high level of expertise and the confidence shown by the FTF in his abilities.
The timely resolution of his contract is crucial for the Hawks as they prepare for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers, a campaign that will set the tone for his tenure.
The finalization of Nibombé’s appointment is anticipated to boost the morale of the team and its supporters, who are eager to see the Hawks excel under new leadership.
With the administrative details nearly complete, the focus can now shift to on-field preparations and strategic planning for the critical matches ahead.
As Togo gears up for the 2025 CAN qualifiers, the official start of Daré Nibombé’s role as head coach marks a pivotal moment.
The successful negotiation of his contract underscores the FTF’s commitment to bringing in top-tier talent to lead the national team.
