Idjessi Metsoko will return to Viktoria Plzen this summer following the end of his loan spell at Slovan Bratislava, with Spartak Trnava now emerging as serious contenders to sign the Togolese striker.
The 23-year-old forward has completed a season-long loan at the Slovak club, where he featured in 36 matches, scoring four goals and contributing four assists.
His performances were consistent across domestic and European competitions, including seven Champions League appearances in which he registered one goal.
Despite being contracted to Viktoria Plzen until June 2027, Metsoko is not expected to remain in the Czech Republic for long.
Talks are already underway between Viktoria Plzen and Spartak Trnava, who are keen to secure his services ahead of the 2025–26 campaign.
According to information from Africafoot, negotiations between the two clubs began several days ago.
An official offer from Spartak Trnava is anticipated by the end of May. The proposed deal could see Metsoko sign a contract lasting three to four years, though financial terms have not been disclosed.
Metsoko, who began his career at Auxerre, moved to FK Vyskov in 2023 before making a €400,000 switch to Viktoria Plzen the following year.
His current market value, as listed on Transfermarkt, stands at €600,000—an amount that may rise given the level of interest in the forward.
While Viktoria Plzen have not publicly named a price for the player, the club is expected to consider bids that reflect his development and potential resale value.
Metsoko’s ability to adapt across leagues and his contribution on the European stage have not gone unnoticed, making him a promising prospect for Slovakian side Spartak Trnava.
