Affo Korké is no longer with us. This was the somber headline featured on the Togolese Football Federation (FTF) website this Tuesday. The website conveyed the news, stating, “Affo Korké Gnozikobiré, a member of the Executive Bureau of the Federation and president of the Organizing Commission, passed away early this morning after a long illness.”
The first response came from FTF President Gabriel Améyi, whose comments were shared on the site. “Mr. Affo was an exemplary member who provided enormous services to Togolese football. His death leaves a great void. Our condolences to his family and to all those who knew and loved him.”
The former member of the FTF was laid to rest on Tuesday, following Muslim traditions.
