The Fédération Togolaise de Football (FTF) kicked off an ambitious project today with the unveiling of detailed architectural renderings and 2D images for a new National Football Technical Center in Gbavé.
The launch event saw Colonel Guy Kossi Akpovy, FTF president, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Dr. Lidi Béssi-Kama, the Minister of Sports and Leisure, who officially set the groundbreaking in motion.
This initiative, born from a tight-knit collaboration with FIFA, signals a major overhaul of the federation’s technical and administrative framework.
Colonel Akpovy didn’t hold back his excitement, emphasizing the long-term vision behind the center. “Today marks a historic moment for Togolese football,” he declared.
“This center will be a pillar for the holistic development of our football.” He highlighted its role in nurturing talent through regular youth camps, advanced coaching courses, and diverse training programs for football professionals.
Beyond the pitch, he added, “This center is also a lever for development for the territory,” promising a lasting legacy for Togo’s future stars and communities alike.
