Babanawo Ayaovi, elected president of the Togolese Volleyball Federation (FTVB) in 2007, has a long history of involvement in the organization. His initial position within the executive office dates back to 1994 when he was appointed secretary general. Over the years, he has served in various capacities, including treasurer and secretary general before assuming the presidency.
As a former player for the Togolese national team, Ayaovi has firsthand experience in the sport, having participated in major competitions such as the World University Games in Mexico. Beyond his role as president of the FTVB, he also serves as the president of the Beach Volleyball Commission for the Africa zone and is a member of the international commission.
Ayaovi, now 54 years old, takes pride in the initiatives implemented during his tenure, such as introducing volleyball programs in schools across each League in Togo. According to him, this effort has resulted in approximately 6,000 students playing volleyball in each League, with more discovering the sport.
During his presidency, Togo achieved success on the volleyball stage, winning the Solidarity Cup in 2010. As he seeks re-election, Ayaovi reflects on the positive developments and contributions made to the growth of volleyball in Togo under his leadership.
