The AJST (Association of Sports Journalists of Togo) is celebrating 40 years of its existence. To mark the event, the association’s executive office has planned a series of activities spread over the next three months. A press conference hosted by officials on Tuesday in Lomé set the tone for this celebration (photo on the left).

On the menu of activities for these emerald weddings, sports tournaments and training series for the written press, radio and television. A training seminar organized in collaboration with the FTF (Togolese Football Federation), CAF and FIFA is also planned to train media professionals on the coverage of major sporting events such as the CAN. The highlight of this celebration will be the “Sportsman’s Night”. An evening of awards for the best athletes of the year. “ Through the celebration of these 40 years of existence, we want to breathe new life into the association. The Togolese sports press is experiencing major problems but the work that is being done is commendable. From this event, we want to relaunch the association and create new frameworks for exchanges ,” declared Noël Kokou Tadegnon (photo on the right), president of the AJST.
