Tchanilé Tchakala Officially Appointed Head Coach of Togo National Team
After weeks of anticipation, Tchanilé Tchakala has officially signed his contract to become the new head coach of the Togo national football team. Announced since June 23, the deal was finalized last Tuesday, marking a new era for the Hawks following the departure of Didier Six.

Monthly Salary: Tchakala will receive 7 million CFA francs per month.
Bonuses and Benefits: The coach is entitled to housing, a vehicle, and telephone expenses. These benefits are estimated to reach approximately 35 million CFA francs over the contract’s duration.
Signing Bonus: Tchakala will receive a 14 million CFA francs signing bonus.
Performance Bonuses for AFCON 2015:
15 million CFA francs for qualification
21 million CFA francs for reaching the quarter-finals
21 million CFA francs for reaching the semi-finals
23 million CFA francs for reaching the final
26 million CFA francs if Togo wins the tournament
The Togolese Prime Minister reportedly gave direct orders to ensure that the coach’s financial package met expectations, reinforcing the state’s commitment to reinvigorating national football.
Tchakala, brother of former Togo coach Tchanilé Bana and head of Liberty Academy in Agbodrafo, now faces the major challenge of qualifying the Hawks for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco (January 17 – February 8). Togo has been drawn into a tough qualifying group with Ghana, Guinea, and the winner of the Mauritania vs. Uganda playoff.
