Gomido de Kpalimé, a Togolese first division club, has made a significant addition to its ranks with the recruitment of François Oman-Biyik, a former international player for the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon. This move comes as the club prepares for the upcoming season of the football championship.

François Oman-Biyik arrived in Lomé on Friday and is expected to take charge of the Kpalimé Show Boys. However, his responsibilities extend beyond coaching the first team; he has also been tasked with overseeing President Winny Dogbatsè’s ambitious training center project. Gomido officials have expressed confidence in Oman-Biyik’s ability to lead both the first team and the center, with anticipated results from the training center within four years.

Having retired as a player in 2000, François Oman-Biyik transitioned to coaching and brings valuable experience, including serving as the director of a training center in Mexico. He has also managed a professional club in the Mexican championship.

A former player who played a key role in Cameroon’s victory in the 1998 African Cup of Nations (CAN), François Oman-Biyik further contributed to the national team as an assistant on the Lions’ coaching staff in August 2010. His wealth of experience both as a player and a coach positions him as a valuable asset for Gomido de Kpalimé as they look to enhance their squad and develop their training infrastructure.
