Togo National League: Anges FC Hold Firm at the Top After 12th Matchday
The Togolese Football Federation (FTF) used the recent international break to update the schedule of the national first division championship. On Sunday, the 12th matchday saw several key results that maintained the status quo at the summit of the league.
League leaders Anges FC continued their strong form with a narrow 1-0 victory over Maranatha, extending their lead to 39 points. Meanwhile, second-placed Semassi were held to a goalless draw in the fiercely contested Tem derby against Unisport, allowing Anges to keep a comfortable margin at the top. Semassi now sit three points behind the leaders.
In the battle for the lower podium places, AS Togo Port recorded a vital 1-0 win against AS Douanes, increasing the pressure on the latter, who appear to be heading towards relegation.
Elsewhere, Gomido secured a 2-1 win over Agaza, while the Dyto-Gbikinti fixture was postponed. Gbikinti’s squad was granted a two-week break following a recent traffic accident involving the team, from which, thankfully, no fatalities were reported.
