The Togolese national football championships are set to resume on Saturday, July 19, 2014, following a suspension during the final phase of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. This was confirmed in an official communication from the Togolese Football Federation (FTF) released earlier today.
However, there’s a scheduling adjustment:
The First Division (D1) will not restart with the 12th matchday as initially expected, but instead will resume directly with the 13th matchday.
The 12th matchday will be played at a later date yet to be announced.
This change is due to the Togo vs. Senegal match on July 20, which is part of the CAF U-17 African Cup of Nations 2015 (Niger) qualifiers.
In addition to the D1 resumption:
The Second Division (D2) championship will also pick up on July 19, with clubs set to play their 6th matchday.
As the first half of the D1 season concluded, Anges de Notsè, the reigning champions, currently lead the standings. The title holders will be looking to maintain their form as the competition heats up in the return phase.
