**Togo to Host Unique Peace Football Match on International Day of Peace**
*August 2025* — In a first for Togo, a special football match bringing together personalities from media, showbiz, politics, religion, and more will be held this Sunday to mark the International Day of Peace on 21 September.
Organised by the Cible Communication agency in partnership with Peace One Day and supported by the United Nations system in Togo, the event aims to promote peace through sport and community engagement.
“This is an unprecedented event in Togo because it is not about marching to protest but about marching for peace – Walk For Peace – and playing football during a match specially dedicated to peace – One Day, One Goal,” a press release stated.
The initiative encourages participants, whether players or spectators, to embrace the values of peace beyond their passion for football.
Ahead of the match, a silent march for peace will take place in Lomé, further underscoring the day’s significance.
