Following a meeting held at the prime minister’s office last Friday, which brought together members of the Togolese Football Federation and the Minister of Sports, a resolution has been reached regarding the ongoing crisis within local football. The decision has been made to proceed with a championship involving 12 clubs.
The president of the Togolese Football Federation, Ameyi Gabriel, who initially advocated for a championship involving 14 clubs, has expressed acceptance of this new decision. He emphasized the importance of promptly resolving the issues surrounding the start of the championship and assured that the federation would take the necessary steps to formalize the decision.
Gabriel emphasized his commitment to the development of football in Togo, stating that he is not a hindrance but rather a supporter of the sport. He reiterated his passion for football and expressed confidence in the progress that can be achieved through collaborative efforts.
