Violence in Togo’s first division football championship has become a recurring issue, with incidents often reported during matches. In a recent match between Kotoko de Lavié and Sara Sport in Bafilo, three Kotoko de Lavié players were reportedly injured in post-match scuffles, leading to the premature end of the game. The players, including defenders Sorafina Kamal and Honkou Dodji and goalkeeper Bellow Ayouba, were hospitalized. Sara Sport’s coach denied the allegations of violence, attributing the match’s premature end to Kotoko de Lavié’s refusal to continue.
The Togolese Football Federation (FTF) has faced challenges in resolving such disputes, and incidents of violence have persisted. The lack of effective measures to discourage troublemakers has contributed to the ongoing issues. In other matches during the 31st day, Dynamic Togolese regained their leadership position, defeating Foadan 1-0. Maranatha de Fiokpo won a crucial match against AS Douanes with a score of 2-1, and other teams competed in various encounters.
