The Togolese Football Federation (FTF) has appointed former national team defender Nibombé Daré as the new head coach of the Eperviers. FTF President Guy Akpovy shared insights into the selection process during a press conference, providing clarity on the decision made after Paulo Duarte’s resignation.

President Akpovy explained the meticulous process that led to Daré’s appointment. “After consultations with the Ministry of Sports and Leisure, the FTF launched a restricted call for applications reserved for nationals.

Among the many applications received, the selection committee carefully evaluated each file based on the skills, experience, and vision of the game of each applicant. At the end of this rigorous process, Nibombé Daré was chosen as the new coach of the Togo national team,” he stated.

Daré’s appointment comes nearly a month after Duarte’s departure, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Togo national team.

The announcement was made on Monday, July 15, confirming the earlier speculation that a local coach would succeed the Portuguese manager.

As a former player with significant experience, Daré is expected to bring a fresh perspective and a renewed sense of direction to the team.

The new coach’s primary focus will be on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the ongoing 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

With these significant competitions ahead, Daré’s leadership will be crucial in building a stable and competitive team.

Although the specifics of his contract and the composition of his technical staff have not been disclosed, it is clear that Daré has a challenging yet exciting task ahead of him.

Daré’s extensive background as a former national team defender provides him with a unique understanding of the team’s dynamics and the challenges they face.

His experience on the field is expected to translate into a strong managerial approach, emphasizing both strategic gameplay and team cohesion.

The FTF’s decision to choose a national coach reflects their commitment to fostering local talent and ensuring that the national team benefits from leadership that is deeply familiar with Togolese football culture.

President Akpovy’s remarks underscore the federation’s confidence in Daré’s abilities to lead the team towards success.

As Nibombé Daré takes on his new role, the Togolese football community will be watching closely to see how he shapes the future of the Eperviers.

With critical matches on the horizon, the team’s performance under Daré’s guidance will be a key indicator of the effectiveness of this appointment.

In conclusion, the appointment of Nibombé Daré as the new coach of Togo’s national team marks a significant step forward.

With the support of the FTF and the experience he brings to the table, there is optimism that the Eperviers will achieve greater stability and success in upcoming competitions.
