The medical condition of four key players from Al Ahly’s first football team will be assessed today, Tuesday, determining their eligibility to join the team’s collective training sessions scheduled to commence this Thursday following a period of well-deserved rest.
Dr. Ahmed Gaballah, the team’s physician, emphasized that Hussein El Shahat, Ahmed Abdelkader, Reda Slim, and Mohamed El Dawy Cristo would undergo a thorough examination to evaluate the latest developments in their injuries over the past period.
The first football team of Al Ahly, one of Egypt’s most successful clubs, is set to resume its training sessions after a two-day break.
This break was granted by the coaching staff to the players following their triumphant victory in the Egyptian Super Cup against Future FC in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, securing the title.
Swiss coach Marcel Koller, along with his coaching staff, will return to Cairo tomorrow, Wednesday, to lead the team’s training sessions in preparation for the upcoming match against Algeria’s ES Setif in the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
The squad, after securing a 10-day hiatus, will focus on the upcoming challenges, notably the encounter with Algeria’s ES Setif in the fourth round of the group stage of the current season’s CAF Champions League.
The match is scheduled to take place in Algeria on either the 17th or 18th of February.
Originally slated for December 19th, the fixture against ES Setif was postponed due to Al Ahly’s participation in the FIFA Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia.
The rescheduled match will serve as a crucial test for Al Ahly as they vie for advancement in the prestigious continental tournament.
