Timothy Weah emerging as Marseille’s potential next big transfer success

Timothy Weah’s first season at Olympique Marseille has given the club and its supporters reasons to believe he could become their next major success story.

After a difficult 2025/26 campaign overall, OM still found some bright spots, and the American international was one of them.

Signed from Juventus for around 14 million euros, Weah quickly adapted to life in Marseille, settling into the team and becoming an almost indispensable part of the attack. His energy, versatility and commitment have made him a rare constant in a squad that otherwise struggled for consistency.

The challenge now is for Weah to confirm this promising start. For the 26‑year‑old, another strong season would not only cement his status at OM but could also open the door to a move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs and a potentially huge transfer fee. That prospect is also attractive for Marseille, who must record several significant sales by the summer 2027 transfer window to stabilise their finances.

In that sense, Weah embodies both a sporting project and an economic opportunity: if he continues to be “Mr Plus” for OM, everyone could benefit.
