Tiémoué Bakayoko Draws Interest from AS Monaco and Liverpool
AS Monaco continues its strategy of investing in young talent and has set its sights on Tiémoué Bakayoko. The 19-year-old midfielder from Stade Rennais made a strong impression during the 2013-14 Ligue 1 season, registering 24 appearances and one goal — performances that have not gone unnoticed by the Principality club, reports L’Équipe.
However, Rennes is in no hurry to part ways with the promising youngster. Bakayoko, under contract until 2017, is considered a key asset by the Breton club. As a result, they have reportedly set a €10 million asking price — a sum that could cool Monaco’s interest.
Liverpool is also said to be monitoring the French youth international, further intensifying competition for his signature.
