Three contenders confirmed for leadership vote at Tunisia’s National Professional Football League
The Tunisian Football Federation has confirmed three candidate lists for the upcoming elective general assembly of the National Professional Football League, marking the beginning of a tightly contested race to determine the organisation’s new leadership.
Following a review of all submitted applications, the federation validated the candidacies of Oukail Ben Hassine, Walid Ben Mohamed and Hassan Zayene.
Each will head a full slate of nominees as they vie for control of the league’s next executive board.
Ben Hassine enters the election backed by a team that includes Dhaker Rebai, Hassen Bajar, Boulbaba Mestiri, Jalel Bedouihech, Youssef Mehadhebi, Zied Hamdi, Cherihene Belarbi, Mohamed Sofiene Salem, Mohamed Hedi Ben Slama, Noureddine Ben Hamza and Omar Zayani.
His list brings together figures with varied backgrounds in administration and club affairs, suggesting an approach driven by breadth of experience.
Challenging him is Walid Ben Mohamed, whose slate features Kantaoui Nouri, Mounir Ben Hassan, Issam Hamzaoui, Wassim Alouche, Hafedh Ben Ahmed, Slim Khedher, Seifeddine Boussaa, Mourad Ferchichi, Nihed Ben Hamida, Youssef Mehamedi and Thameur Mekaouer.
His ticket positions itself around organisational reform and continuity within league structures, presenting itself as a collective with professional stability.
The third contender, Hassan Zayene, leads a list composed of Chamseddine Euchi, Anis Beji, Hatem Abed, Moneem Hentati, Ali Zdiri, Ammar Ksiksi, Faouzi Dali, Mohamed Baati, Hatem Mchala, Abderrazak Chabbeh and Bilel Jami.
Zayene’s camp appears focused on governance renewal, highlighting a blend of experience and new administrative voices.
The election will be held on Saturday, 20 December, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with the final venue yet to be announced by the federation.
The gathering is expected to draw significant attention given the league’s role in regulating the top tiers of professional football in Tunisia and the broader impact the new board will have on club operations, competition management and long-term sporting development.
The outcome will determine not only who leads the National Professional Football League but also the strategic direction it will take in the years ahead.
Each list brings a distinct vision, and the assembly’s voters now face a decisive choice as Tunisian football enters a new administrative chapter.
