Eden Hazard has expressed admiration for Ousmane Dembele, lauding the Paris Saint-Germain forward’s resurgence as one of the defining stories of the current football landscape.

The former Chelsea playmaker believes the French winger is finally delivering on the immense promise that has followed him since his teenage years, describing his present form as a reward for persistence and discipline.

Dembele, now widely regarded as one of the standout figures in European football and the current Ballon d’Or winner, has enjoyed a remarkable turnaround at PSG, where consistency and end product have elevated his influence. His performances have drawn praise across the game, with Hazard among those impressed by the transformation.

Speaking on Canal Football Club, Hazard highlighted the importance of perseverance in Dembele’s journey. He said: “Hard work pays, that’s proof.”

The Belgian also reflected on the long-held belief within football circles that Dembele possessed exceptional talent, even if it took time for that ability to fully materialise at the highest level.

His remarks pointed to the winger’s evolution from a prodigious prospect into a decisive, mature performer on the biggest stages.

Hazard added: “We all know that Ousmane has incredible talent, we have known it for around ten years. Now we really see it.”

A significant factor behind Dembele’s resurgence, according to Hazard, has been the stability provided by PSG’s current coaching structure.

Under Luis Enrique, the forward has been given both tactical clarity and personal guidance, allowing him to refine his decision-making and maximise his attacking output in a structured system.

Hazard was particularly appreciative of the environment built around the player, suggesting it has been central to unlocking his best version. He remarked: “He has a coach (Luis Enrique) who helps him well, who knows how to manage him. This is the football we want to see!”
