Thierry Henry Dreams of Managing Arsenal One Day
Former French striker Thierry Henry has revealed his ambition to transition into management — and his ultimate dream is to one day take charge of Arsenal, the club where he became a legend.
In an interview with ITV, Henry explained:
“I don’t know what Arsène (Wenger) wants to do and how long he’ll stay. But I want to be equipped, to have what it takes to one day be Arsenal manager.”
While acknowledging the magnitude of such a role, Henry was also clear-eyed about the path ahead:
“To be in that position would be a dream. But let’s be honest, you have to learn the trade first, that’s the most important thing. Just because you know football doesn’t mean you can coach.”
Currently working as a BBC pundit, Henry has made it clear he respects the complexity of coaching and is determined to gain the proper experience before stepping into such a responsibility.
Whether Arsène Wenger, who has managed Arsenal since 1996, will be the one to guide him into coaching remains uncertain — but Henry’s ambition signals a strong desire to return to the Gunners in a new, influential role.
