Thierno Diallo: France-Guinea defender joins Plastics Vallee FC on free transfer

France-Guinea centre-back Thierno Diallo has joined Plastics Vallee FC on a free transfer from Yverdon FC II.

The 26-year-old defender returns to French football after a short spell in Switzerland’s 2. Liga Inter, where he moved in February 2026 from Moulins-Yzeure, also on a free. His switch to Plastics Vallee FC is effective immediately, with the move confirmed at the start of the 2026–27 campaign.

Diallo, born in Oyonnax and standing at 1.82m, has built up solid experience across France’s lower divisions. He previously featured for Jura Dolois, Besancon Foot and Moulins-Yzeure, largely in National 2 and National 3, as well as appearing in the Coupe de France. Over those seasons he accumulated more than 80 league appearances, mainly at centre-back, contributing two goals in National 3 Group J.

He first stepped into senior football with Bourg-en-Bresse after progressing from the club’s U19 side in 2020, going on to register regular minutes before embarking on a series of free transfers around the French semi-professional scene. His most recent campaigns have seen him maintain a consistent presence in defensive lines, with close to 3,000 minutes logged in one National 3 season alone.

Diallo now links up with Plastics Vallee FC as a central defender, completing a permanent move from Yverdon FC II on a free transfer.
