Spain-based defender of Moroccan descent, Omar El Hilali, has reacted to the reported interest from La Liga giants FC Barcelona.
The defender in the past month has been linked with a potential summer move to Barcelona following his impressive showing at Espanyol.
Reacting to the interest, Omar El Hilali said it is just a rumour, adding that his camp has not received anything concrete.
“I heard about this news through friends who sent it to me and so on. Just as I haven’t received anything about this, I haven’t received anything about other rumors that have come out either,” Omar El Hilali said.
The Moroccan defender continued, “Everything that comes in has to be evaluated by my agents—that’s their job. From there, whatever has to happen will happen at the right time.”
This season, Omar El Hilali has played 25 matches for Espanyol in the Spanish La Liga. The 21-year-old has provided two assists and has established himself as one of the exciting youngsters in the league.
