Togolese international Kodjo Fo-doh Laba has completed a move to the United Arab Emirates, signing a two-year contract with Al Ain. The former RS Berkane striker, who spent three years with the Moroccan club, ended his final season on a high note, scoring 19 goals.
Although Fo-doh Laba left RS Berkane as a free agent, the transfer reportedly involved a substantial fee. According to sport.le360.ma, Al Ain paid 60 million dirhams, approximately 5.5 million euros, to secure the Togolese international’s services.
Fo-doh Laba finished the season as joint top scorer in the Botola alongside Mouhçine Iajour, both netting 19 goals. He also claimed the top scorer title in the 2019 CAF Cup, cementing his reputation as one of the continent’s most prolific forwards.
The move to Al Ain marks a new chapter in Fo-doh Laba’s career, offering him the chance to test himself in the Gulf league while continuing to build on his impressive goal-scoring record. His signing strengthens Al Ain’s attacking options ahead of the upcoming seasons, and the club will look to capitalize on his proven ability to find the back of the net.
With this transfer, Fo-doh Laba joins the growing list of African talents taking their careers to leagues outside of Europe, combining competitive football with new financial and professional opportunities. His scoring prowess and experience in continental competitions make him a key addition for Al Ain as they aim to compete domestically and in regional tournaments.
