The Guipré Viviane Academy (AGV) was a notable participant in the Limbé tournament, bringing an “international” dimension to the event. The football training center, established in Ivory Coast in 2006, made its debut in the Limbé tournament, and its cadet team performed admirably, reaching the final but ultimately losing to the Brasseries du Cameroun Football School (EFBC).
Despite the defeat, the technical director, Toussaint Sahué, emphasized the importance of evaluating the young players over winning the tournament. The Guipré Viviane Academy had previously participated only in the district championship of the Wouri departmental league in Ivory Coast before being forced to relocate due to the political-military crisis.
Now based in Cameroon, the academy aims to establish itself, build a reputation, and contribute to Cameroonian football. Toussaint Sahué expressed gratitude to the hosts in Cameroon and emphasized the academy’s commitment to representing Cameroon in African competitions, including potential naturalization of Ivorian players for the cause. The academy sees this as a way of expressing gratitude to the host country and contributing positively to Cameroonian football.
