Sébastien Desabre, the new coach of Cameroonian club Coton Sport, has officially settled in Garoua. At 36 years old, Desabre is tasked with turning around the fortunes of the club, which had a challenging season, losing out on various competitions.
Having earned a football coaching diploma and a UEFA license, Desabre has coaching experience, having been in charge of the Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas d’Abidjan since 2010. His arrival at Coton Sport is part of the club’s efforts to rejuvenate and improve its performance.
Following his contract signing with Coton Sport, Desabre expressed his commitment to player care by proposing the establishment of a clinic. This focus on player welfare is seen as part of the broader strategy to enhance the overall performance of the team.
Coton Sport underwent changes after parting ways with former manager Robert Boivin and some players due to insufficient results. The club faced setbacks in competitions like the Cameroon Cup, African Club Champions League, and the Confederations Cup. Desabre’s appointment is expected to bring fresh ideas and direction to the team in its quest for success.
