The second edition of the Doha GOALS Forum is scheduled to take place in Qatar from December 9 to 11, 2013, and will bring together over 1,500 participants from the sports, political, economic, and media sectors globally. African football legend Roger Milla is among the invited personalities. The forum aims to focus on taking action, aiming to create a roadmap for concrete economic and social progress through sports. Key themes to be addressed include the fight against corruption in sports, financing and organization of major international sporting events, allocation of sports-generated profits, sports’ role in education, reintegration through sports, advancements in sports medicine, promotion of diversity and solidarity, and the influence of sports on culture. The forum will also discuss the need for improved methods to combat illegal betting and match-fixing in sports. Prominent figures like Sir Ronnie Flanagan and Cherie Blair will contribute their insights to address corruption in sports and work towards better prevention, detection, and enforcement methods. The initiative was founded in 2012 and is organized by the Aspire Zone Foundation and Richard Attias & Associates, bringing together renowned speakers and sports legends to explore the impact of sports on social progress and economic development.
