The Bees deny Joel Masutha talks as hunt for new coach begins

Motsepe Foundation Championship side The Bees have denied reports linking them with experienced coach Joel Masutha after parting company with Duncan Lechesa.

Club president Bheki Magunga confirmed the team had begun searching for a new head coach, but said Masutha was not under consideration.

“It’s not true that we are talking to Joel Masutha,” Magunga told Soccer Laduma.

“Yes, we have started searching for a new coach, and our plan is to appoint one before our next game,” he added.

Lechesa was dismissed this week, with Dominic Ramokgopa and Velile Zitha placed in temporary charge while the club looks for his successor.

The Bees’ next fixture is an away visit to Cape Town City on 11 October.

The Mpumalanga club are 14th in the second tier after winning only one of their opening five matches. They have lost four times during a difficult start to the campaign.
