THE AFRICAN CLUB WITHHOLDS THE SALARIES OF STRIKERS

Club Africain has imposed disciplinary sanctions on certain players who participated in a strike by withholding their salaries. The players refused to take part in training, demanding to receive their salaries first. The disciplinary council decided to withhold the salaries of players involved in the strike. Fateh Gharbi, Skander Cheikh, and Wejdi Jabberi will be deprived of their September salaries. Additionally, Haten Baratli, Maher Hadded, and Mourad Hedhli will not receive salaries in both September and October. The players also face sporting sanctions, including spending six months with the elite section, with one month firm and five months suspended. The strike is noted to have caused damage to the image of Club Africain. The 2013-2014 season is set to begin on September 15, with Club Africain playing its first match on September 25 against reigning champion Sfaxien Sport Club.
