Shrewsbury Town has expressed its gratitude to Ghanaian teenager Charles Sagoe Jr. following his recall from his loan spell by Arsenal.
The 20-year-old had joined League One side Shrewsbury from Arsenal in the summer, making 18 appearances during his time at the club.
However, despite his consistent presence on the pitch, he was unable to score or provide assists.
In a statement on the club’s official website, Shrewsbury confirmed the recall and offered their thanks.
“Shrewsbury Town can confirm Charles Sagoe Jr. has returned to parent club Arsenal. The 20-year-old made 18 appearances for Town after joining the club on a temporary basis from the Gunners back in August,” the League One outfit said.
The statement continued: “Shrewsbury would like to thank Charles for all his hard work over the past five months. We wish him and his family the very best of luck for the future.”
Arsenal will now consider other options for the talented attacker. It is also possible that he will be given a shot at first team football as the race for the English Premier League title intensifies.
