Thamsanqa Magwaza: Chippa United’s South African winger linked with Hope FC move
Thamsanqa Magwaza, the South African right winger currently at Chippa United, is being linked with a move to fellow South African side Hope FC. The Betway Premiership attacker is understood to be on Hope FC’s radar as they assess wide options ahead of the new campaign.
Magwaza joined Chippa United from FC Ravens on 5 August 2025 and has been working to establish himself in the first team. He has featured in the league and domestic cups, including appearances in the Betway Premiership and Nedbank Cup, as coaches at Chippa have looked at him in competitive action across different competitions.
The winger wears the number 18 shirt for Chippa and is listed with a market value of €25,000 as of early June 2026, a valuation that could make any potential deal relatively straightforward to structure for a domestic rival. Hope FC are not currently operating in one of the country’s top-flight divisions, but the interest reflects how Magwaza’s performances have been monitored beyond the Premiership.
Magwaza’s contract details at Chippa have not been made public, and it is not yet clear whether any talks have taken place between the clubs or with the player’s representatives. For now, he remains part of Chippa United’s attacking options as the Eastern Cape side shape their squad following his arrival from Ravens less than a year ago.
