Thalente Mbatha, currently on loan from Orlando Pirates, is basking in a moment of triumph and fulfillment with the Bucaneers. The midfielder recently notched his maiden goal for the club, a crowning achievement after battling for his spot in the starting eleven week after week.

After months of perseverance, Mbatha earned his spot in Orlando Pirates’ starting lineup for the first time since his arrival in January.

His debut was nothing short of spectacular, with the young midfielder contributing a goal in the team’s commanding 4-0 victory over Royal AM.

Reflecting on his milestone, Mbatha expressed gratitude to his teammates and coaching staff, acknowledging their unwavering support in realizing his dream.

“Scoring my first goal for Orlando Pirates is actually a dream come true. I have to thank my teammates and the technical staff for the opportunity and the support they give me on a daily basis,” Mbatha remarked in an interview with the Orlando Pirates media.

Mbatha’s journey to this pivotal moment has been marked by resilience and determination. Previously featuring in just five brief appearances for SuperSport United during the first half of the season, Mbatha has embraced the competitive environment at Orlando Pirates as a catalyst for growth.

“It’s a good challenge that helps me improve gradually. I can’t afford to make mistakes because I think the competition we have in the team is healthy.

We simply have to play our game and whoever has the opportunity must take it,” Mbatha asserted, highlighting the relentless pursuit of excellence within the squad.

As Orlando Pirates gear up to face Cape Town City before the South African Cup semi-final against Chippa United, Mbatha remains focused on contributing to the team’s success.

With ambitions to salvage their season, Mbatha emphasizes the importance of mental and physical preparation, underscoring the team’s determination to secure vital victories on the pitch.

“I think we will have to prepare mentally and physically. It won’t be an easy match since we are playing away.

If we play our game and implement the coach’s instructions, we will definitely come back with the three points,” Mbatha affirmed, epitomizing the spirit of resilience and commitment driving Orlando Pirates forward.
