South African youngster Thailon Smith has completed his medical ahead of his move to English Championship Queens Park Rangers in the ongoing summer transfer window.
Smith is joining the English outfit following his remarkable performance at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, held in Egypt.
The young South African defender played a pivotal role, helping the Amajitas to annex the title in the North African country.
His outstanding performance at the tournament caught the attention of several clubs, with QPR winning the race to sign the defender. Despite not making any appearance for Stellenbosch, Smith is set to secure a move to the English outfit this summer.
He is expected to sign a four-year contract with the English side and will initially join their youth squad.
The move marks his maiden European adventure and is expected to continue his development in the upcoming 2025/26 football campaign.
